Almost Gamst....

Ewood Park 24th February 2008. Photo of The Rovers attacking the Darwen End (sparsely populated with Bolton supporters). Seconds after taking the picture Morten Gamst Pedersen scored Rovers 4th of a 4-1 win (meeting Jason Robert's cross with a strong shot that, amusingly, dumped their goalkeeper onto his arse in the back of the net with the ball. How we laughed!)
There were even less Wankies left as a result.

NB: Bloke in front manages to get his bald spot into the photo whilst the guy on his right is more shy and opted for cap. Person on left has a full thatch.
The git.
Match result: Rovers 4 (McCarthy 2 pens, Bentley, Gamst ) Bolton 1 (SoF)

Oooops!!

Riverdance ferry on Cleveleys beach a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't take an updated picture as the tide was in, but it has listed further and is now resting on its side.

A Properly Parked Ferry.

23rd February 2008. Stena Leader at Fleetwood.
This was previously owned by P&O and was named Buffalo. Along with Bison (now Stena Pioneer) and Tipperary (now North Sea Ferries Norcape) this was one of the three ships I remember working out of Fleetwood to Northern Ireland (Larne or Belfast) when I was a child.
The third ship these days is Stena Seafarer (was P&O Puma).
Note how Stena Line park their boats in a generally upright position as opposed to Seatruck Ferries who park theirs upside down on the beach.

Uncle Jack

Ewood Park 22nd February 2008

Tested out the 'Image Stabiliser' camera feature with this picture which can only be done in landscape mode apparently. This means I don't get the focus crosshairs in the viewfinder.

It seems to be generally in focus, though, and there doesn't appear to be much camera shake so all seems to have worked OK.

A rather unfortunately placed branch (from a tree behind the wall) appears to be growing out of Mr. Walker's forehead (how come you never notice these things when you are looking to set up the photo??) providing a Superman style kiss curl.

Which, in a way, I suppose it is apt for Blackburn's very own Superman and complements his 'up, up and away!' pose.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Diesel unit at Haworth station 10th Feb. 2008.

Boring Sunday afternoon but it wasn't raining (for the first time this year.....) so off to somewhere local for a look around. Having gone to Cleveleys recently to see the grounded ferry, we chose Haworth this time. No steam trains, but a small diesel thing.

Bit of a con, really.
