Thornwick Bay Revisited......

Heading north from Flamborough's North Landing along the cliff top for about ¾ mile towards Bempton, you reach Thornwick Bay.
Coastal erosion is starting to affect the footpath in several places and a rather vital bridge has been lost.
Nearer to sea level the wartime pill box which defended the Bay against invasion bears a dedication to lives lost during a failed rescue attempt in the 1950's.

Another Shipwreck

The North End of Cayton Bay on a windswept day. The tide was on its way out but hadn't retreated far enough to prevent us being cut off from the Southern End.

A fishing boat had been beached and set alight at some point. A sad case of maritime fly-tipping.
